Heavy SMGs have flourished after the year 2000, mainly due to the appearance of light personal armour. They are now bulkier and so less concealable, with a firepower that requires a strong hand to be hold them. Usualy the equivalent of the previous century's rifles in every aspect but the size. Heavy SMGs are primarly used by police corps, military commandos, and above all corporate forces or militias.

Daewoo 11 mm Mitsumi | ||

Realy a light machinegun with the size of a heavy SMG. Its belt feeding can provide it with an impressive amount of ammunition. The Daewoo can reasonably shoot for 10 seconds (3 rounds) after which it usually jams due to heating and expansion. |
Federated Arms P6 Auto | ||
![]() | ||
Possibly the heaviest SMG type in the world ! The P6, technicaly very close to an assault rifle, uses the 6 mm caseless cartridge created for the H&K G6 gun. Unfortunatly, the American firm could not mimic the accuracy nor the revolutionary rotating clip of the german SMG. The result, even if one admits an originality in the shape, is a quite inaccurate and slow automatic weapon, which explains for its poor sales. |

Sternmeyer DP11A | ||

Special : this weapon is equiped with a selection system which allows to choose the rate of fire (10 to 30), and the firepower from 2D6 to 5D6. The total discharge of the battery (300 eb, allows 150 shots at middle firepower) depends obviously on the intended use.The DP11A is a rare weapon that needs to be cared for, and so, a luxury on these days, but it could well prefigure what SMGs of 2030s will be like. |
