AUTOMATIC SHOTGUNS
Also called "riot gun", automatic shotguns count among the most vicious weapons in the world of 2020. They compensate for their relative inaccuracy by the opportunity to cover a large shooting area with a series of deadly pellet discharges. At short range, the result is quite close to what an assault rifle could give. At long range, the cumulative width of the various impacts leaves little chance for the target to get away without damage. Automatic shotguns suffer from the same handicap as conventional shotguns : their relative ineffectiveness against modern armor. However, there is one factor to be taken into account : armor, especially if it is made of soft Kevlar, will tend to harden and crack under the effect of shot discharges. Thus, if the first impacts can be absorbed, the following ones may leave many more marks !
Riot guns are, as their name suggests, mainly used by police forces and corporate militias. They are generally available for sale, despite the problems they pose in terms of projectile identification.
