These innovative vehicles have the great advantage of being able to go absolutely anywhere.
Arasaka HW-12 | ||
Arasaka's heavy walker, this is a big one. This is basically a walking tank, with enough armament to put anything down for good, and enough mobility to go virtually anywhere. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Arasaka Katakoma | ||
The fully military version of the Koma series of think tanks. It is heavier armed, and it's wheels retract into the legs to allow the digits better grip. It features the same AI as the Tachikoma as well, and the same abilities. Oddly enough, the EDF outbid the US on this one, and they use it exclusively for their special forces. Arasaka T08A2 Arachnida
This is a state of the art light weight tank designed for urban deployment. It utilizes "crab-type" running gear for high speed and maneuverability over almost any terrain. It is filled to the brim with options, and it comes equipped with therm-optic camouflage and a cybernetic linkage. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Arasaka Tachikoma | ||
The Tachikoma is the updated Fuchikoma Think Tank. Like the Fuchikoma, Tachikoma's utilize an advanced AI, enabling them to not only act as a vehicle, but also to act completely autonomously. The AI is a "learning system" and when not in use the Tachikoma assigned to any given group are synchronized, sharing the memories of the day with the others Tachikoma in the unit. So while they have individual personalities, they all share the same experiences and memories and thus learn from them collectively. Tachikoma "feet" have independent locking power driven wheels, enabling them to drive at high speeds, as well as walk. They are able to leap up to 20 meters and are capable of falling 30 meters safely. A powerful electrostatic resin on the rires allows them to cling to surfaces, even upside down. The also employ monowire grapnels. They are equipped with three "Eye" orbs, each able to act independently, allowing them to see 360 degrees at all times. Tachikoma are childlike and inquisitive in personality, and tend to ask endless questions of their operators. Used primarily by the United States CIA, FBI, and special forces, as well as Japans Section 9 anti-terrorist unit. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Arasaka Wolf Spider | ||
A small but impressive walker. Its 8 legs give it extra stability and speed, while its compact size make it easier to get in and out of places other walkers and vehicles can't. It keeps its armament light but deadly, and can climb sheer walls without skipping a beat. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
BMW Expedition | ||
This vehicle drives like a car until the terrain makes it impossible, then the wheels of this corporate walker lock into place when "walkabout" mode has been engaged. It's main purpose is deep terrain exploration, and was originally commisioned when German research teams heading to Brazil requested something that would be as safe and reliable in heavy bush as it was on the road. Chinese HMG-R3 Metal Gear Rex
China's newest addition to the Metal Gear Line, the "Rex" is a beast, technically and offensively superior to any other cyberwalk in the world. Recently China has been selling these to South African government forces at a greatly reduced cost, what China is getting for this remains to be seen. For as impressive as this machine is, it is also very slow... perhaps its greatest weakness. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Chinese MG-A1 Metal Gear
The chinese Metal Gear is a small heavily armed cyberwalk, used mostly as guards at checkpoints, or as advance recon in heavily wooded areas. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
GKN HWAT-15 | ||
The heavy walker of the EDF, though with a machine this size, one wonders what the benefit of it having legs are. Still it is armed out the wazoo, and capable of driving like a truck due to its locking wheels. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Militech Ape | ||
Militech's walker, this is a big one. Just by looking at the legs of this beast you can tell that for a walker its huge. This is basically a walking tank. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Militech W-17 | ||
This vaguely humanoid walker is as close to a Giant Robot as the world is ever likely to see. Almost more of an enormous ACPA, the vehicle can only be controlled through cybernetic interface. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Paneurope Dung Beetle | ||
A combination assault walker and ACPA, the Dung Beetle is most commonly seen serving with european military forces and the British and French police departments. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Sisu JH-23 Jitterbug | ||
This Finnish Cyberwalk is utilized by the EDF as a patrol unit in heavily wooded areas. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
Zetatec Mantis | ||
Possibly the tallest of all cyberwalks, the Mantis certainly lives up to its namesake. Blending into its surrounding then raising up and striking so fast the enemy doesn't know they have been hit until they are in the jaws of death.. The Mantis has added booster jets which allow it to leap up to 55 meters. Special Equipment : Weaponry : |
