GRENADE LAUNCHERS

Grenade launchers are what can be called weapons of mass destruction. They were created to compensate for the lack of precision and power of hand grenades, whose dangerous handling is regularly the occasion of incidents in the field. A grenade launcher can project explosive, smoke, chemical or incendiary charges from a great distance, with greater precision than a hand grenade, to destroy equipment or neutralize a group of enemies. The self-propelled grenades typically used are of two calibers, with related effects : 25 mm and 40 mm (see the grenade chapter). More exotic diameters, such as the Soviet 30 mm also exist. These grenades are very large cartridges, which cause a significant recoil when fired, due to the high mass of the projectile.
To get rid of this cumbersome and heavy equipment, DCR grenades can be used at the end of a gun barrel. Models mounted under the barrel of a firearm are also popular, although their range, magazine and rate of fire are smaller.
From a legal point of view, it is clear that grenade launchers are highly illegal in the America of 2020.

The M223, successor of the famous M203, is semi-automatic. It fits on many assault rifles as long as they have a long enough barrel. This version has a long barrel hence its good accuracy but there are shorter versions (accuracy : 0, range : 200 meters, length : 36 cm) for smaller rifles.
